Morty Silvertongue's Adventures pt4

Morty Silvertongue's Adventures pt4

Returning to my search for the Taxman the following morning, He was'nt too hard to find making his way along his usual route making sure he collected the taxes from all the surrounded homes. I offered him the coins I had found in the tomb and he was elated at the quality of the coins and was rather pleased in his greedy way. "Now I say! The Abbey is free of your taxes for another year!" The Taxman replied with, "Not just yet my friend!" I thought "Here we go" and yes I was right. The cretin wants me to re-enter this tomb and find the burial plot of a Lord buried there, as he was extremely rich and if I can find his coffin and remove all his valuables then I wil be done with this greedy little man. Unfortunatley I have to agree, so once again I am bound to venture forth back into this tomb and find even more riches for this cretin.
So once again I enter the Tomb and search for this Lords Tomb, Knowing that no way would he be buried on the top section. I know I must traverse lower into the tomb as well, which I did not overly enjoy before. But I will prevail and find this tomb and with alittle luck wil be done with this Taxman once and for all.

Entering the lower parts of the tomb I was greeted by some not so nice undead, raised from death. These skeletons are a real pain, as they see right through my stealth skill and attack without hesitation. I barely scraped through the few fights I had to deal with to eventually find what I thought would be enough of these coins to make the Taxman happy.

Slowly I made my way from the bowls of the tomb. I made camp not far from the tomb site and awaited morning to search out the Taxman and give him the spoils he sure does'nt deserve!

Whilst I was passing the time before dusk fell, I came across a diviner that was out collecting a few odd things growing in the grounds around where I was camped. She looked worried and I asked her if she was alright. She looked my way and after a few moments asked if I was interested in making some coin in assisting her with a small problem.

I thought on this for a small time and decided I need the coin so why not! Offering my help she mentioned that a wolf's den not far from here had been killing her live stock and stalking her whilst she was out in the forest. She has asked me to kill the wolf pack leader and bring her it's hide as prooof of its demise. Feeling that this is a task suited to my skills perfectly I accepted the task.

As dusk was an hour or so away, I decided to check out the cave and see if I can find this pack leader. Upon entering I find it has a few young wolves near the entrance, Easily dispatched with some sneaky backstabbing, I venture forth deeper into the cave, I rounded a small corner in the cave and there it was. A large grey wolf, slightly larger than me. "heh! just about everything is larger than a Halfling" considering whether I should tackle this creature now or wait til morning when they are more likely to be sleeping through the daylight hours. Time was wasting and I could'nt really see an opening for an quick attack, I was just about to turn and leave when I was jumped from behind and attacked by a younger wolf. Now the poo had hit the fan, Not only did I have to take on a young wolf, but also the leader and one other that came when the leader charged!

With a flash of canine teeth and steel, it was over virtually before it began. After the fight I stood there, coated in blood and fur with three dead wolves at my feet, and myself barely alive. I deiced to get out of here before any of the younger wolves return and decide to take vengeance with my battleworn body.

Sneaking out I made my way back to the woman I had met and offered to help, She was elated with my victory and gave me some coin and allowed me to rest in her house to heal my wounds before I set out on the morrow for the Taxman.

Morty Silvertongue's Adventures pt2

Morty decended into the tomb, carefully keeping as stealthy as possible. "You never know what evil lurks in these places." Morty thinks to himself.

Just past the entrance Morty came across a pile of bones and some old clothing. Not being shy at looking through rubble and rubbish for anything of value Morty jumped right in sifting through the bits and pieces for anything of value. Removing what looked as the remains of a well weathered cloak, a crypt spider attacked from underneath. Morty being quick witted, lunged with his dagger with lightening speed and slew the spider with ease. Dispatching the spider with ease, Morty considered this tomb did'nt look too dangerous. Though, only being fifty feet into the tomb, you can never be too sure whats around the next corner.

Morty continued searching the tomb, with very little luck in finding anything worth of value. Just when he was considering going back and trying to make another arrangement with the Taxman, Morty came across another pile of rubble and scrap. Upon searching the pile he found a gold coin that definately looked worth its while. Morty thought if he could get a few more it might be enough to pay off the Taxman and he could hopefully make alittle gold out of anything extra he might find in the tomb.

Over the next hour or so of searching the tomb, Morty had found a few more coins and some valuable trinkets he could fence back in town for some gold. Morty cleared the tomb as best he could looking for coins and other trinkets and just when he thought he was done, his senses told him there was more to this tomb than met the eye. Morty decided to heighten his senses and search around for hidden doors or levers. He was sure there was more to the tomb and he was'nt let down. Not long after his searching began he found a door hidden by a statue that decended deeper into the tomb. With baited breathe Morty drew his dagger, gathered shadows around him and blended into the darkness as he decended into the lower bowls of the tomb.

The life of Morty Silvertongue.
Part one

Morty Silvertongue is a Halfing Rogue that I play on a Neverwinter Nights 2 server called Shroudworld. I thought I would Blog his adventures as he traverses the game world.

So let us begin his adventure with his measly basic beginnings as a Rogue.

Morty, being not very smart in the ways of others to be a honest and fair trader or tradesman. He decided to try his hand at thievery and fencing stolen items. During his small time in his old town, Morty developed his skills and was doing rather well until a day he will never forget destroyed his career in his home town and Morty had to run for his life.

Just escaping with his hide intact Morty made his way to Galeton Woods, where he stayed at Dissan Abbey for quite some time, Til the day he knew he was destined to try his hand again at being a Rogue. Upon Leaving the Abbey, Morty came across a Tax Collector that was after so called Taxes that were not paid by the Abbey's master. Morty liking the master, conned the Taxman into letting Morty get some items to cover the costs of the outstanding taxes. The Taxman being a rude and greedy man, Told Morty that a nearby graveyard tomb holds riches of great wealth and if Morty would collect some of the riches for him, He would forget about the taxes being owed.

Morty decided that the deal was good enough and took up the challenge of treasure hunting in the graveyard tomb. The Taxman showed Morty where the Graveyard was and off Morty set to once again find adventure and riches. Reaching the entrance of the tomb Morty took one last check of his equipment and was ready to decend into the tomb.
